Black & White Night Photography – Downtown Tampa 2020
This gallery is a selection of black and white renditions of night scenes taken near the Hillsborough River waterfront in downtown Tampa (Florida) including the downtown river walk along the river and Plant Hall at the University of Tampa.
Each of the photos taken on this shoot were rendered in two versions – one the original color, a second version the original color image converted to black and white. Comparing the two versions of each image, multi-color lights and lighting in the color images proved a distraction, diverting attention from the photo’s subject and composition. Rendering the color image into black and white created a more uniform picture and better highlighted the image’s subject and composition.
