Gasparilla is a series of community events held annually in Tampa, Florida from the end of January through early March since 1904. Events include a pirate invasion/boat parade into Tampa Bay, day and night parades on shore, a large outdoor art festival, a distance running competition plus other activities. Images in this gallery are from the Pirate invasion landing at Tampa Convention Center taken in January 2006; the last image in the gallery below being the Mayor of Tampa surrendering the city to the pirates, the day parade held shortly thereafter. All pictures taken using a Olympus C750UZ point & shoot camera (4 MP).
